At this point of her life, Louise Enhorning has built such a reputation for herself that pretty much everyone has forgotten that she had her beginnings just like anyone else who fell in love with the camera…as a photo assistant. Prior to becoming drawn into photography, did you have other career interests?
Artist or stylist.
How did you get your first big gig?
Through contacts I had after working hard.
What camera do you use for most of your shoots?
Canon 5D Mark III.
How do you go about preparing for your photoshoots?
I’m very prepared and have thought a lot about the lighting, casting and location. And most off all the mood and feeling you want to create.
Would you say that networking plays a big part in your field?
I’m not so interested in networking and in people who talk about the business all the time. I do have a truly interest for humans and I’m very interested to get to know new people.
What would you say has been your most memorable assignment?
Being a mom.
How do you go about completing your goals for your career as a photographer?
I think it’s very important to have goals and I’m very happy about my career.
What piece of advice would you give to someone who wants to become a photographer of your caliber?
Listen to your heart.
